trying to find myself again
So, here I am again. I haven’t written in almost a year. I made a vain attempt to get back to blogging last spring but that didn’t last. Things have been busy since my initial blogs. I’m still in school and now studying full time though not with a full course load. It’s good though. I’ve also just received news that I will be in China for a few weeks in May doing this English language program. I will also be travelling to India at Christmas and staying there for 4-6 months on a student exchange. I’m thrilled beyond belief about these opportunities. As far as I can tell, the whole point of living is to go places… literally.
I’m still working on my art and things… well, they’re going well. I was out with Jody Wieler today talking about art stuff and I kind of brought up the fact that I don’t seem to produce an awful lot. I wish I had more time to make more things stemming of course from great ideas. It isn’t so though. Everything I make seems to take so damn long. I’m not complaining.. yes I am actually. What else is going on? In my photography class our current assignment is to deal with light. I photographed Amanda and Brad lying down in the tanning bed. I took the idea of light literally and most people took it as something a bit more romantic or abstract than that. From what I’ve heard most people are focusing on the quality of light. That’s an idea too I guess. I’m picking up my prints from Toronto Image Works this Wednesday. I’m so excited to see them. I have yet to write my artist statement because I’m hoping that when I see these images super sized I’ll have a physical reaction to them. I’m also hoping to show these in the Student Juried Show coming up at Rodman Hall. Well, that’s it for now. Hopefully something will inspire or piss me off soon and I’ll be back. I’m getting tired and it is time for bed. Tomorrow is work then homework. Someone’s gotta do it. lol.
